EXPERIENCE
OptumCare, United Health Group (MHCI - Capstone)
Lead Interaction Designer
Jan 2022 - Present | Pittsburgh, PA
- Leading the design efforts with a team of four to understand and prototype complementary products and plug-ins to current Electronic Health Record (EHR) software with the aim of reducing physician burnout.
- Managing key research into human factors principles surrounding workload, directing attention, situational awareness, information processing, and human-AI interaction within cognitively demanding environments; attended the annual HFES Symposium on Healthcare in New Orleans to support this effort.
- Currently prototyping solutions in Figma surrounding adaptive user interfaces (AUIs) to deliver high-value information at the point of care.
Software Engineering Institute - CMU
Research Assistant
Sept 2021 - June 2022 | Pittsburgh, PA
- Collaborated with Nikolas Martelaro (Assistant Professor, HCII, CMU) andCarol Smith (Senior Research Scientist, SEI) to explore new methods/tools to support hazard analysis for AI/ML-enabled products & services.
- Engaged in 12+ semi-structured interviews with industry professionals and academics working in safety-critical system development (e.g., autonomous vehicles, aerospace, medical devices, defense), launched complementary survey, and synthesized insights.
- Prototyped concepts using Figma aimed at helping professionals promote more expansive thinking during preliminary hazard analysis, as well as better visibility into known problems during development.
- This research has been featured at the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI-22) & the 2022 International Conference on Software Engineering; I was an invited speaker at both.
New York Fashion Week (S/S 2019, F/W 2019, S/S 2020)
Production Assistant
Sep 2018 - Mar 2020 | New York, NY
- Production assistant to Lynne O’Neill, working with a small team to coordinate backstage logistics for 16+ fashion shows and press presentations. Clients ranged from recent CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winners to established fashion houses, including LaQuan Smith, Moschino, Snow Xue Gao, Son Jung Wan, SOREL, and Todd Snyder.
- Adeptly managed unique task requests across stakeholders under time-constrained circumstances; coordinated between venue manager(s), hair & makeup artists, stylists, casting directors, models, and agents to ensure smooth run of show.
KSS Architects
Lead Visual Designer
Apr 2018 - Aug 2021 | Princeton, NJ
- Led the visual and motion design for 30+ projects with clients spanning from high-profile corporate real estate developers to non-profits.
- Spear-headed key visualization efforts (walk-throughs, axonometric diagrams, conceptual renderings, pitch videos) for $300+ million project.
- Managed deliverables of cross-functional teams (spanning marketing and architectural/interior design departments) to help communicate ideas through high-fidelity renderings, diagrams, presentations, advertisements, and videos.
- Guided market research efforts surrounding integration of emerging transportation/warehouse facilities into existing urban structures, last-mile distribution logistics, and worker wellness/safety.
Princeton University
Intern, Office of Construction & Design
Mar 2015 - Aug 2016 | Princeton, NJ
- Worked with a small team tasked with converting both historic and current real estate documentation into internally accessible digital database. Focused on collecting/digitizing plans and metadata relating to engineering (structural, electrical, HVAC) to allow maintenance teams to easily access and amend critical information onsite.
- Participated in inter-departmental innovation seminars and led meetings on proposed internal fit-outs targeted around increasing social interactions within communal spaces. Design suggestions were documented and presented to lead University Architect.
